Education Savings Accounts (ESA's)
Texas’ Education Savings Account (ESA) program provides eligible families with state funds for approved educational expenses, including private school tuition. The Texas Comptroller administers the program and will provide the application portal and official guidance.
We’re excited to share that HCA has opted to participate in the ESA program and plans to submit the required application this fall, as soon as the Comptroller’s portal opens.

Early 2026 (anticipated)
Application portal opens (subject to state timelines).
2026-2027 School Year
2026–27 school year: First year ESA funds can be used for tuition.

Important: HCA Tuition Discounts & Financial Aid
To be eligible for any HCA tuition discounts or financial aid, families must submit an ESA application when the state portal opens. This ensures we are stewarding resources fairly and aligning aid with available state funding.
